WordPress on Sabah Government websites
Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) is the only one using WordPress among the top 20 websites owned by Sabah State Government. The top 20 web site ranking was conducted recently by MSC Malaysia and compiled by the State Computer Services Department.
My brief analysis of the type of CMS used on the top 20 Sabah state website shows the following:-
- Sabah Forestry Department: Custom/ASP
- Sabah State Government: Custom/ASP
- Sabah State Computer Services Department: Custom/ASP
- Sabah State Library: Custom/ASP
- Shared by:
Rural Development Corporation: Static
Sabah State Department of Human Resources Development: Joomla - Sabah Tourism Board: Custom/PHP
- Ministry of Finance: Static
- Department of Industrial Development and Research: Drupal
- Sabah Social Welfare: Custom/ASP
- Sabah Public Works Department: Custom/ASP
- Sabah Rubber Industry Board: WordPress
- Shared by:
Ministry of Agriculture Development and Food Industry: Static
Sabah Economic Development Corporation: Joomla - Shared by:
Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Sabah: Custom/ASP
Kota Kinabalu City Hall: Custom/Ruby on Rails
Ministry of Rural Development: Static
Sabah Credit Corporation: Static - Sabah Foundation: Custom/ASP
- Penampang District Council: Static
- Sabah Public Services Department: Static
- Shared by:
Ministry of Community Development and Consumer Affairs: Static
Ministry of Industrial Development: Static
Sabah Public Complaints Bureau: Custom/ASP.net
Tawau Municipal Council: Static - Shared by:
Department of Fisheries Sabah: Custom/ASP
Sabah Islamic Affairs Department: Joomla - Shared by:
Ministry of Local Government and Housing: Static
Sandakan Municipal Council: Custom/ColdFusion
(list purposely cut off at number 19 for reasons mentioned below)
Overall, 5 out of a total 28 websites listed in the Top 20 use open-source CMS, including Sabah Rubber Industry Board. Important to note that in the compilation document made by the State Computer Services Department (refer page 21), there is an error in the ranking, whereby even though the Public Works Department and SRIB were scored equally, Public Works was ranked higher than SRIB, when the 10th spot was suppose to be shared by both. (addendum: the ranks were also erronously numbered — number 8 jumped to number 10, which means they missed number 9.)
When corrected, the Keningau District Council (static) and Sabah Urban Development Corporation (SUDC) would have been pushed up the ranks and be included in the Top 20 Sabah State Government websites. If that is done, then WordPress would have been represented by both SRIB and SUDC.
Which would have been so cool.

LWP file viewer / reader: KeyView for Lotus
I’m SO glad I finally found a working copy of it. Tried it on Windows XP and it runs, although it specifically mentioned that it runs on Win 95/98/NT. It didn’t install the first time when I run it on Windows 7 32-bit, but after right-clicking on the installer and selecting Troubleshoot Compatibility, it installed fine.
I’ll poke around the following Lotus/IBM FTPsite below when I have the time. Skimming through, I can find the kvlotus.exe file as well as other installers (which I’m guessing is Lotus SmartSuite).

Ubuntu Hardy on netbook? Not a good idea. Some functions didn’t work as well as it did when I used the Netbook Remix version. I’m going to have to reinstall my Acer Aspire One computer.

Giuk.net, LAMBAT BETUL MAU APPROVE!
Soalan/statement paling popular dalam setiap Giuk.net blog submission.
Kamu ni ah. Ada itu FAQ a.k.a.
Biasanya bila sia terima itu e-mail notification, almost always a couple of hours after you have clicked the Submit button. Kadang, a mere minutes after you submit pun sudah sia cek. Sekali sia cek blog kamu, ndada pula itu backlink. Apa lagi, sia punya auto-link checker reject la blog kamu automatically.
Bah menunggu la kamu 3-4 hari lagi kalau gitu.
Bukan marah ni, cuma mau kasi ingat kamu. Baca arahan sebelum menjawab.
OK?
Betul ni, sia ndak marah. Teketawa sendiri sia baca blog post sia sendiri. Tembirang butul sia kan, eksyen kunu.
Tapi seriously, tolong buat step nombor dua ya. Dan bacala apa-apa soalan yang sudah terjawab itu, baru la kamu paham.

It’s amazes me how much stuff I can do when I totally concentrate on it. What’s even more surprising is the fact that I need nothing and no one is pressing me to finish this other than my own motivation. I love it when I’m in the zone.
